A group session is a live video class with one instructor and up to 20 students. You pay for a seat, join at the scheduled time, and learn alongside other students. The instructor teaches, demonstrates, and takes questions throughout the session.

A private session is booked directly with an instructor. It's just the two of you for the full session duration (60 or 90 minutes). You set the agenda. The instructor focuses entirely on your specific goals.

Everything on AliveLesson is live. There are no videos to watch on your own schedule. Sessions happen at a set time with a real instructor who is present and responsive. You can ask questions, get feedback, and adjust the direction of the session in real time.

You need a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone) and a stable internet connection. No software download is required for most sessions. Your booking confirmation includes a video link you click to join.

All payments are processed securely through PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account to pay. You can use a debit or credit card through the PayPal checkout. You'll receive a payment confirmation and booking details by email.

Group sessions are not rescheduled for individual students. If you miss one, reach out to the instructor directly to ask about upcoming sessions on the same topic. Private sessions can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice, at the instructor's discretion.

Refund policies are set by individual instructors and are listed on each session page. In general: requests made more than 24 hours before a session start are eligible for a full refund. No-shows and late cancellations are at the instructor's discretion.

Yes. Payments are handled entirely by PayPal. AliveLesson never sees or stores your card details. PayPal uses industry-standard encryption and fraud protection.

Students pay for sessions through PayPal at the time of booking. After a session is completed and confirmed, your 80% share is released. Payouts run weekly.

Payouts are processed weekly for all completed sessions from the prior 7 days. You receive your payment directly to the PayPal email address on your instructor account.

You keep 80% of every session booking. AliveLesson keeps 20% to cover platform operations. There are no subscription fees or monthly charges.

Any skill you can teach live over video. Common categories include technology, creative skills, business, language, trades knowledge, and career coaching. If you can demonstrate it and explain it, you can teach it here.

Yes. You set your own rate for group sessions (per seat) and private sessions (per session). AliveLesson does not impose rate limits. Most group session seats run $10 to $25. Most private sessions run $40 to $80 per hour.

No. You need expertise in your topic and the ability to explain it clearly over live video. If you can do the skill and communicate it well, you can teach it here.

A computer with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space. Professional lighting and a dedicated microphone help, but they're not required to get started.

If a student no-shows for a private session and gave no advance notice, you keep the full session fee. For group sessions, the session proceeds with whoever attends.

Currently we serve US-based students and instructors. International expansion is on the roadmap. If you're outside the US and interested, use the contact page to let us know.

For students: you pay per session. There is no platform subscription fee. For instructors: there is no charge to list yourself or create sessions. AliveLesson earns only when you do, through the 20% commission on completed bookings.
