The Problem
Pre-recorded online courses have a completion rate under 15%. You buy them with good intentions, watch the first two videos, then life gets in the way. There is no accountability, no live feedback, and no human connection. You are essentially paying to watch TV alone.
What We Built
aLiveLesson connects learners with real instructors for live, private 1:1 video sessions. You get the instructor's full, personalized attention — a real person who can answer your specific questions in real time.
Where Instructors Come From
Many of our instructors are referred through gigworkersguide.com, a community of independent workers who already have marketable skills and flexible schedules. They teach what they know best, from coding to crafts to languages to music.
How We Make Money
aLiveLesson charges instructors 10% of completed bookings, with a $1 minimum per booking. There are no listing fees and no upfront costs for instructors. We only make money when teachers sell a lesson. Lessons have a $10 minimum so new teachers can offer affordable starter sessions while still keeping the marketplace sustainable.
Our Commitment
We will never replace human instructors with AI. We will never sell your data. We will never spam you with upsells. This is a simple marketplace for live human learning, run by humans, for humans.
